Since COVID outbreak, I couldn't travel that much but I cannot stay in a city and not looking around. I am going to write about some of them gradually but for now let me talk about my trip to Albany, NY.

Last summer I took a week off and travelled to Albany to see a couple of friends and chill a little. I planned my trip in way that I would see some road sites as well, so I took the road that goes through New Hampshire, Vermont and then enters New York. It is quite one of a kind up here in northeast and it's nearly impossible to pick a specific venue that could stand out. I hit the road early in the afternoon so I could see some sites on the way. As usuall I was stunned by the natural beauty and I stopped at almost every lakeside or hill park. It was a very warm day and I was really enjoying the sunshine after that long winter. I went through a lot of towns on the way. You could see that the very livelihood of that town depends on that road and the tourists. It was like the whole town is a thin strip of houses and shops laid right next to the road.

I was so involved with the road attractions so much that it was night and I was just in the middle of vermont. Up here you rarely can find a vibrant night life and pandemic significantly offsets any chances to have some fun at night. So, I stepped on the gas and drove through the wooden roads but I recall one specific bridge between Vermont and up state New York. This bridge goes through a reservoir right outside of Troy and it was completely dark when I got there. Fortunately for me, there was a full moon that night and the silver illumination of moon on the surface of the lake was breathtaking. It was almost no traffic on the road at that time so I got a chance to stop for a minute or two and had a good look at the glamorous twilight on the lake.

My trip was a month after death of G. Floyd and people were still angry and protestors were all around the country. You could still see the aftermath of protestors and how the city was anxiously in shock. I vivdly rememebr that shops had wooden carboards installed in front of their windows and barely you could find any business working properly. Just one week before that, my friend's shop was robbed during the a protest. You would sometime hear that people are copming out to defend their principles and some just arbitrary fire up the movement to benefit from the anarchy and it was my repeated experience in this regard, this time some where far from home. Apart from this, I really had a wonderful time there. I got a chance to visit a couple of trails and lakes and meet a couple of friends over there.
